Keep Track of It All: A Simple Caregiving Record on Your iPhone
Caregiving creates a lot of information: medications, test results, appointments, and who said what. You do not need a special app. The iPhone you already own can hold it all.
KEEP ONE SHARED NOTE: In the Notes app, create a note for your loved one with the medication list, the doctors, and a running log of visits. Tap the Share button to invite family members, so everyone sees the same, current information.
SCAN THE PAPERWORK: Discharge papers and test results get lost. In Notes, tap the attachment button and choose Scan Documents. The page is saved inside your note, where you can find it later.
LET REMINDERS DO THE REMEMBERING: Create a list in the Reminders app for refills, appointments, and follow-up calls. Share the list with a sibling or helper so tasks can be divided and checked off.
TRACK MEDICATIONS IN THE HEALTH APP: In the Health app, open Medications to add each prescription and its schedule. The iPhone will send a reminder when it is time and keep a record of what was taken.
Start with the shared note and add the rest as you need it. Your future self will thank you!
I will be sharing my own Shortcuts and setup videos for each of these. Sign up for the weekly tip to get them.
